But if you don't and you're fed up of being cooped up at home and want some fresh air ( well okay sometimes it's a bit pungent) and adventure, then this is for you. I'm sharing my five of the best-kept secrets about the beautiful county of Norfolk for you to visit.<\/h2><h2><br \/><br \/><br \/><img src=\"https:\/\/images.teemill.com\/CUezT27H2ahoFC8IOPwsi4OqLyzTfDdal44h1Ufg8BpCkZlf.jpeg.jpg?w=1140&h=auto\" alt=\"\" title=\"55690353\" \/><br \/><br \/><strong>For the active ones<\/strong><\/h2><h3>How about a spot of stand-up paddleboarding (or SUP as people in the know call it)?<\/h3><p>If you are a beginner, you can take lessons at Hunstanton or King\u2019s Lynn as well as guided paddleboarding tours from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northnorfolkpaddleboards.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">North Norfolk Paddle Boards<\/a> including those tours where you can watch the sunrise or set \u2013 stunning! Or you can simply hire the kit for the day and off you go. SUP is great exercise and fun to do in groups.<\/p><p>SUP with your pup is becoming very popular and instructors can even give you advice on how to paddleboard safely with your dog.<\/p><p>There are various quiet stretches of the Norfolk broads, such as Martham where you can paddleboard in peace and even take your pooch for company \u2013 going west of Martham to Potter Heigham is even quieter due to the low arch on the bridge which prevents many boats from passing under. Following this route, you can visit the Hickling Broad Nature reserve, a haven for wildlife and birds.<\/p><h2><a href=\"https:\/\/huppens.com\/product\/woof-surf-tee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img src=\"https:\/\/images.teemill.com\/p64FbISovvbTAYIF8SpEUs3EIBRtW8OwJZEUyiugmohKcPCa.jpeg.jpg?w=1140&h=auto\" alt=\"\" title=\"55687977\" \/><\/a><br \/><br \/><strong>For the little ones<\/strong><\/h2><h3>Who doesn\u2019t love a bit of crabbing?<\/h3><p>Norfolk, specifically Cromer, is famous for delicious crabs, but what\u2019s better than eating them \u2013 catching them, of course.<\/p><p>There are 3 main places to go crabbing in Norfolk<\/p><ul><li><p>Blakeney Quay<\/p><\/li><li><p>Wells-Next-The-Sea Quay<\/p><\/li><li><p>and of course, Cromer Pier<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p>All you need is a string, a weight, and some bait \u2013 apparently crabs like bacon, squid, mackerel, and raw liver \u2013 eeww! Tie your weight at the bottom of the string and the bait a little further up. You\u2019ll also need a bucket with some stones in the bottom and some water from where you are crabbing to put the crabs in once you have lured them with your \u201cdelicious\u201d treat.<\/p><h3><img src=\"https:\/\/images.teemill.com\/efBfZ8m8a27gZjR0HAkAL8Td9VFRot1LjLOZm05LLnUuUQUh.png.jpg?w=1140&h=auto\" alt=\"\" title=\"55710253\" \/>Some crabby facts for you:<\/h3><ul><li><p>The smallest crab is the Pea Crab at just a few millimetres wide. The largest species is the Japanese Spider Crab, with a leg span of up to 4 m (13 ft).<\/p><\/li><li><p>Crabs can move in any direction slowly but if they want to move quickly, they have to go sideways<\/p><\/li><li><p>Crabs are omnivores \u2013 they eat plants and meat.<\/p><\/li><li><p>Crabs make up 20% of all the crustaceans caught by humans each year \u2013 1.5m tonnes - now that's a lot of crabs!<\/p><\/li><\/ul><h2><img src=\"https:\/\/images.teemill.com\/adrvYDXoU0Vx4TLpKQQfmS4Q8Xv6tIBgrJSyrQlVDQa6M2CU.jpeg.jpg?w=1140&h=auto\" alt=\"\" title=\"55690049\" \/><br \/><br \/><br \/><br \/><strong>For the nature-loving ones<\/strong><\/h2><h3>Did you know that you can go seal watching at 3 places in Norfolk ? \u2013 Hunstanton, Blakeney Point and Horsey beach. They're a great activity for a family day out.<\/h3><p>During the summer months of June to August, you can spot the Common seals and their pups at Blakeney Point and at Hunstanton. If you want to see Grey Seals and their pups you\u2019ll need to wrap up warm from November to February at Horsey Gap and Blakeney \u2013 this is where the Grey seals come to give birth \u2013 amazing! If you\u2019re happy just to see adult seals, then they are all year round at Blakeney Point where boat trips are available even during winter months.<\/p><h2><br \/><img src=\"https:\/\/images.teemill.com\/WESMuKdiZlTewoaBUpOOrUwYq9bCxjiRs2Dw272QcIzHAhiF.jpeg.jpg?w=1140&h=auto\" alt=\"\" title=\"55690519\" \/><br \/><br \/><br \/><br \/><strong>For the chilled out ones<\/strong><\/h2><p>When you just want to have a relaxed walk along the beach with your dog, there\u2019s a huge choice in Norfolk. Norfolk has over 100 miles of coastline and beaches many of which are sprawling at low tide \u2013 great for wearing out your fur baby. But please remember that the only thing we want to be left on our beaches are pawprints. You can walk to it over mudflats from Burnham Overy Staithe or take a boat when the tide is high. Known as an offshore barrier island, it is teeming with wildlife and has a pure white sandy beach framed by huge sand dunes.
